I'm Kevin. I live in Salem, Mass with my wife and little boy and I build software.

So I have a new job. It's funny how some people know what you do, but don't really know what you do. Here's a good description so far:

I am a Senior Technical Consultant for Acquia. The title says a lot. I'll be doing a combination consulting tasks including researching compatibilities and recommending solutions for new website projects. We will be getting some clients who have a website, Drupal or otherwise, who need to know if and how they can migrate all of their data and features to our Acquia Drupal distribution. In some cases, we will have to work with the Drupal community to bring a certain module up to speed; and, in some cases, we'll have to create a new module from scratch to replicate a task. I will also be helping to integrate Dupal with other large software systems that the client requires. Once we know that we have the right software, I'll be helping to tune and build out their hosting environment and then performing the site migration. We have a whole list of partners that will be helping with these tasks, so in those cases, I will be helping to organize the efforts.

We will also be doing jump start training where I will go on-site for mentoring and development. I will personally demonstrate the capabilities of Acquia Drupal, and leave the client with a fully-working website that they can use as a jumping off point for future projects.
